University of Melbourne - Southbank

Southbank is the University of Melbourne's performing arts campus. Home to about 3000 students it is located 15km from the main Parkville campus in Melbourne.

Following an analysis of Parkville student experience, the project was extended to Southbank using the same project methodology. Combined, over 1000 students participated in the project. Using quantitative data, the university could quickly compare the experience of students across both campuses. However the qualitative data (from thousands of student comments) provided rich insight into why that experience varied. 

Southbank students have a very strong sense of belonging, and tight cohort community groups. However some students felt they lacked the same facilities and resources as those on the main Parkville campus. The priority areas of focus to elevate campus experience were demonstrated from the data.
